Fried Frank Pro Bono Project Receives PILnet’s 2022 Global Partnership Award
Accolades | October 20, 2022
Fried Frank partners with the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) and DLA Piper to help Afghan women judges and their families move to safety from around the world. The firm’s lawyers advise IAWJ on US refugee and asylum law, submit documentation for P1 referrals and interface with US officials on policy and procedural issues. This project has been selected for PILnet’s Global Partnership Award, which recognizes the best, most innovative pro bono legal project undertaken as a cross-sectoral collaboration with an impact felt in more than one country.
PILnet’s Global Awards celebrate and honor the extraordinary efforts made by individuals, law firms and NGOs to strengthen civil society, advance social justice and protect the public interest around the world. On October 18, 2022, PILnet announced the recipients of two awards, the Local Impact Award and the PILnet Global Partnership Award, and bestowed the PILnet Publico Award at the 2022 PILnet Global Forum.
