Fried Frank Grows Corporate Department, Welcomes Partners Russel Perkins and Josh La Grange

Mr. Perkins joins as a member of the Firm's Asset Management Practice. At Fried Frank, he will advise fund sponsors, asset managers, and institutional investors on a wide variety of fund formation, governance, and compliance issues relating to a broad range of private funds and other alternative asset classes. Mr. Perkins will also counsel clients in connection with venture capital and M&A transactions, with a particular focus on investment manager seed, joint venture, and spinout transactions. He has particular experience advising clients on a range of matters pertaining to the Investment Advisers Act, ERISA, the Investment Company Act and the Securities Act.
At Fried Frank, Mr. La Grange will represent companies and investors on corporate and securities law matters, including SEC reporting and compliance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and shareholder activism preparedness. He will also represent investors and issuers in connection with complex or novel beneficial ownership issues arising under federal securities laws. This work will include structuring corporate finance, M&A, spinoff, and derivatives transactions and developing related disclosure strategies and compliance programs.

Mr. Perkins joins from Dechert LLP where he was a partner in the financial services group. He received his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was an Articles Review Editor for the Virginia Law Review; and his BA, cum laude, from Harvard University.
Prior to joining Fried Frank, Mr. La Grange was counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He received his JD from Columbia Law School, where he was an Articles Editor for the Columbia Law Review, a James Kent Scholar, and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar; and his AB, magna cum laude, from the College of William and Mary.
