David J. Greenwald Named Co-Chair of Board of Trustees of Columbia University

Fried Frank chairman David J. Greenwald, who has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Columbia University since 2018, has been elected as co-chair of the Board alongside Claire Shipman, a fellow Columbia alum and well-known journalist, author and public speaker. Currently a vice chair, Greenwald will assume his new leadership position on September 1, 2023. 

As co-chair, Greenwald will work closely with other influential alums on the Board and lead the Board in overseeing the administration of the university and advising the university's president and other senior officers. 

Greenwald is a prominent member of the Board, also serving as the chair of its Finance Committee. He is an esteemed member of the Dean's Council at Columbia Law School, having graduated in 1983 as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and contributed to the Journal of Transnational Law. Additionally, he has provided valuable insights as a guest lecturer at the Law School.
