
Robert Cassanos is of counsel in the New York office and the former co-chair of the firm's Tax Department. He joined the firm in 1981 and became a partner in 1988.
Robert has extensive experience in and provides counsel on the tax aspects of the firm's transactional practice areas including fund formation and structuring, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, financing and capital markets transactions, public and private M&A, and cross-border acquisitions. He has significant experience advising private investment funds particularly in the fixed income and real estate areas. He is the author of a number of published papers and a frequent speaker on various tax topics. Robert is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section, having most recently served as the immediate past Chair of the Section.
