Accolades | November 8, 2022

The National Black Lawyers named associate Whitney J. Dumeng to its Top 40 Under 40 Black Lawyers in New York.

Dumeng's practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and general corporate governance matters. She is an active member of Fried Frank's Women's Forum and advocates for women in the legal profession. Most recently, she spoke on a virtual panel entitled "Women in Corporate Law," sponsored by the Women's Law Forum and Rutgers Law School's Center for Corporate Law & Governance, to discuss creating space for women within corporate and business law. She is dedicated to pro bono work, including assisting Legal Aid immigration clients in applications for naturalization and advising Immigration Hotline callers seeking counsel concerning changing immigration laws. She was also included in this year's Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll for her pro bono efforts in 2021. This honor—bestowed on behalf of the District of Columbia Courts in partnership with the DC Access to Justice Commission and the DC Bar Pro Bono Center—recognizes attorneys who have contributed 50 hours or more of pro bono work to those who cannot afford legal counsel.

The National Black Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 is an invitation-only professional development and networking association comprised of the top African American attorneys across the country. The organization recognizes influential attorneys from each state who promote its mission through outstanding efforts in their respective practice areas.
