Robert Cassanos Elected Secretary of the New York State Bar Association’s Tax Section

Accolades | January 23, 2019

Tax partner Robert Cassanos has been elected to serve as an officer of the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Tax Section, which announced the news at its annual conference in January 2019. For the upcoming year, Mr. Cassanos will serve as secretary and will play a role in overseeing the Tax Section’s more than 2,000 members and more than 20 separate tax committees and, over the coming years, is expected to serve as a Vice-Chair and ultimately the Chair of the Section.

The NYSBA Tax Section is widely respected among both practitioners and government officials for providing non-partisan thought leadership, particularly around new tax rules and regulations, at the federal, state, and city levels. While Mr. Cassanos has been an active member of the Executive Committee for over a decade, serving as an officer is both a significant commitment and a great honor. Past chairs have included some of New York’s most prominent tax practitioners, including over the years former Fried Frank tax partners Martin Ginsburg, Arthur Feder, and Richard Loengard, Jr.
