Fried Frank Continues Growth of Asset Management Practice in Europe

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that Sam Wilson will join the Firm as a partner in the Asset Management Practice. He will be based in the London office.
Mr. Wilson has extensive experience representing private equity fund sponsors and advising clients on fund formation, co-investment structuring, fund financing arrangements, and other complex transactions. At Fried Frank, Mr. Wilson’s practice will focus on private investment funds and complex corporate transactions, with a particular emphasis on European fund formation.

Mr. Wilson’s addition comes during a period of continued growth for the Asset Management Practice in London and follows the recent appointment of Kate Downey as head of the European Private Equity Funds Practice and the promotion of David Christmas to corporate partner in the Asset Management Practice.

Mr. Wilson will join Fried Frank from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he is counsel in the private funds and investment funds practices. He received his Graduate Diploma in Law from Nottingham Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oxford. Prior to beginning his legal profession, Mr. Wilson pursued a successful seven-year career as an Infantry Officer in the British Army, and retired in the rank of Captain.
