Virgin Unite and its supported charities

Fried Frank has provided pro bono legal assistance on a range of issues to Virgin Unite and its supported charities including Kikass and Stop the Traffik.  Kikass is a youth charity working to empower young people to realize their full potential, build massive rapport with individuals and youth communities as well as create opportunities in which young people get the chance to shine and express their inner greatness. Stop the Traffik a growing global coalition of over 900 member organizations from over 50 countries, working together to fight against people trafficking.

Report on Shareholder Activism in the Cause of Human Rights for Special Representative to UN Secretary-General

Fried Frank created a report on the use of various aspects of corporate and international law to cause corporations to act in furtherance of social responsibility. The report, created for John G. Ruggie, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Business & Human Rights, details various aspects of corporate law that can be useful in that regard, including the law governing shareholder resolutions and precatory proposals in the context of international human rights standards such as those articulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Global Compact.

Clinton Global Initiative 

As an inaugural sponsor of the Clinton Global Initiative, Fried Frank committed in 2005 to undertake global pro bono projects in critically important international areas. The Firm, the Center for American Progress and a group of business leaders are in the late stages of developing political risk insurance programs to promote capital investment in impoverished and unstable regions such as Gaza and the West Bank.
