Fried Frank represented Ms. S, who is a national of Guyana and had conditional resident status based on her marriage to a US citizen. The parties separated after years of extreme cruelty and physical abuse. Legal Services NYC referred her case to Fried Frank and in August 2017, the Firm filed a Form I-360 self-petition as an abused spouse in order for Ms. S to obtain permanent residence. Ms. S was interviewed by USCIS on July 31, 2019. Litigation associate Chelsea P. Azrak represented Ms. S at the interview, and her petition was finally approved on August 17, 2019. Ms. S received her permanent resident card on August 23, 2019.
