Fried Frank Achieves Immigration Pro Bono Victory

Fried Frank represented pro bono clients, E. (15) and R. (18), who recently received their green cards. E. and R. are half-brothers from Guatemala, who were abandoned in infancy by their respective fathers. They came to the United States in December 2013, and were placed in removal proceedings. The Firm began representing E. and R.  in 2015, and successfully obtained Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and terminated removal proceedings for both brothers. Now that they are legal permanent residents, E. and R. are looking forward to pursuing their educational and career goals in the United States.

The Fried Frank team included litigation special counsel Jennifer L. Colyer; corporate associates Diana K. Garner, Joanna D. Rosenberg, and Danielle Z. Sawaya; and pro bono coordinator Stella Drevina.

The Firm's representation of E. and R. was recently featured in The Door's “Spotlight On” section of its newsletter. The Door's mission is to empower young people to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment.
