Three Fried Frank attorneys have been selected to participate in the 2019 Fellow and Pathfinder programs from the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). Real estate special counsel Kabaye Liku will serve as a member of the 2019 class of LCLD Fellows, which was created to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession. Corporate associates Luis Murguia and Rati Ranga will participate in the LCLD Pathfinder program, which trains high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies including leadership and the building of professional networks.
“We are proud to be involved in these programs and have no doubt that Kabaye, Luis, and Rati will be excellent contributors to the programs in which they are participating,” said Fried Frank Chairman David J. Greenwald.
“Kabaye, Luis, and Rati have been identified as future leaders at the Firm, and will join an elite group of individuals from diverse backgrounds to enact change relating to diversity in the workplace,” said Michael J. Barker, real estate partner and chair of the Firm's Diversity & Inclusion Committee. “Congratulations to each of them on this impressive recognition.”
Former Fried Frank LCLD Fellows include partners Matthew W. Howard in 2018, Maxwell Yim in 2017, and Matthew V. Soran in 2016; former Pathfinders include associates Matthew E. Joseph and Alana Berrocal Rodriguez in 2018, Anayansi Rodriguez in 2017, and Flora Go and Nicole R. Love in 2016.
Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. The LCLD Fellows Program, which has trained more than 1,600 mid-career attorneys since 2011, is one of LCLD's most important initiatives. The LCLD Pathfinder Program is now in its fourth year as a full-scale program, having been piloted in 2015 among a select number of LCLD Member law firms and corporations. It is an initiative that has filled a gap in LCLD programming, targeting junior associates and the youngest members of corporate law departments. Click here to learn more about LCLD.
