Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that Katrin Gaensler has joined as a German Tax Partner, resident in the Frankfurt office. Ms. Gaensler advises predominately international companies on general corporate tax matters, corporate reorganisations with a strong cross-border focus, M&A transactions and tax litigations. She also counsels clients on special real estate transfer tax and VAT projects.
Ms. Gaensler further expands Fried Frank's offering in Frankfurt, which has been growing over the past year with the arrivals of Steffen Schellschmidt as a finance partner and Dr. Christian Kleeberg as a mergers and acquisitions and private equity partner.
“We are delighted to welcome Katrin to Fried Frank as we strengthen our tax offering in Frankfurt and continue to grow the Firm's presence in an important European market,” said David Greenwald, chairman of Fried Frank. “Katrin's experience and technical skills will be highly valuable to our clients as we help them navigate complex and sophisticated matters.”
Before joining Fried Frank, Ms. Gaensler was Associated Partner in the tax department of Noerr LLP. Previously, she worked for nearly eight years in the tax department of Allen & Overy LLP.
While Ms. Gaensler is not admitted to practice law, she is admitted to the Frankfurt Chamber of Tax Consultants and Chamber of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the German Institute of Certified Public Accountants (IDW) and a member of its Corporate Income Tax working group.
