Fried Frank Receives 100 Percent Rating on Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for Eighth Consecutive Year

Fried Frank has achieved the top rating of 100 percent on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for the eighth consecutive year. The Firm is one of only 89 law firms, and 366 companies nationwide, to achieve a 100 percent rating. Additionally, Fried Frank is included on the "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality” list.

First launched in 2002 by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the CEI criteria serve as a road map for major U.S. businesses' adoption of inclusive policies, practices and benefits for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees. It is the nationally recognized benchmarking report for businesses to gauge the level of LGBT inclusion in the workplace against competitors. The top rating requires that recipient companies have fully inclusive equal employment opportunity policies, provide equal employment benefits, demonstrate organizational LGBT competence, publicly evidence their commitment to equality and exercise responsible citizenship.

Other LGBT-related initiatives at Fried Frank include the annual Michael R. Diehl Civil Rights Forum, which brings civil rights leaders together with Fried Frank employees to discuss the most pressing issues facing the LGBT community, and sponsorship of the Lavender Law Career Fair and Conference of the National LGBT Bar Association. In addition, Fried Frank's robust pro bono program provides legal counsel on matters involving family law, marriage equality, gender identity, political asylum, HIV status and other issues.
