Robert C. Schwenkel, co-chair of Fried Frank's Corporate Department and global head of the Firm's M&A and Private Equity Practices, is a recipient of the SUNY Buffalo Law School 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award for Private Practice. Mr. Schwenkel received his JD, magna cum laude, in 1982 and served as articles editor for the law review. He will be honored at SUNY Buffalo Law Alumni Association's 52nd Annual Dinner on May 20 at the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo, New York.
Mr. Schwenkel joined Fried Frank in 1982 and became a partner in 1989. He has a diverse transactional corporate practice concentrating in private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Representative clients include Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Permira Advisers LLP; KKR; Appaloosa Management LP; and Citadel Investment Group. He also frequently represents private equity sponsors in "club" transactions and portfolio companies of private equity investors.
Mr. Schwenkel is consistently recognized by Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business and Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business as a leading individual in Private Equity: Buyouts.
