Antitrust and competition partner Tobias Caspary was quoted by The Telegraph on Holcim and Lafarge's plan to sell EU€5 billion in assets to secure backing for their merger. "This so-called fix-it first approach apparently aims to create a geographically complementary business and thereby pre-empt areas where regulators would identify areas of major overlaps," said Mr. Caspary. "However, regulators will review whether the merged company still raises competition concerns and this still might result in bigger remedy packages being required."
