Industry Leaders Convene in Washington, DC to Discuss Developments and Trends in Global Sector
On October 20, Fried Frank hosted its 2011 Global Aerospace and Defense Executive Seminar. Attracting top international aerospace and defense experts and executives from the policy, finance and corporate communities, the day-long Executive Seminar addressed a wide range of issues critical to the industry, from the future of government defense budgets to cross-border sector investment.
With a long history of ground-breaking transactional and controversy work for global aerospace & defense clients, Fried Frank is among the first Wall Street law firms to launch a dedicated, multidisciplinary Global Aerospace and Defense practice. With defense companies looking to reshape their portfolios, and investors looking to capitalize on change in the aerospace and defense sector, transaction activity is expected to remain robust. However, with recent market volatility and increased scrutiny from governmental, regulatory and political authorities, aerospace and defense companies recognize that they must enhance their operational performance, compliance profile, and policy and regulatory acuity to prosper.
"Despite the challenges presented by the global economic market, we expect to see more transaction activity in this sector. Fried Frank's goal in launching this Executive Seminar is to provide an annual forum for leading industry executives to share ideas and perspectives on how best to navigate the complex terrain ahead of them," stated Mario Mancuso, Corporate Partner and Chair of the Firm's Aerospace and Defense Practice.
