Robert Juceam participates on a panel discussing the New York Immigrant Representation Study

New York Law Journal noted litigation of counsel Robert Juceam's (NY) participation as a panelist at a colloquium hosted by Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in conjunction with the release of the preliminary findings from the New York Immigrant Representation Study.

The two-year study, commissioned by the Katzmann Immigration Representation Study Group and the Vera Institute of Justice, found that 60 percent of detained immigrants in New York City facing deportation from the US lack legal counsel. As part of his panelist remarks, Mr. Juceam noted that there were 425,000 immigrants detained last year with little to no representation, resulting in extremely difficult circumstances for a detainee to prepare a case. He added, "The crisis in representation in immigration is overwhelming."
