James J. McCullough speaks with Law360 about potential consolidation of the defense contracting sector due to federal cutbacks

Washington, DC litigation partner James J. McCullough is quoted in a Law360 article, "OCI Rules, Budget Cuts Shake Up Defense Industry," about potential consolidation and M&A within the defense contracting sector as a result of recent budget cuts by the Department of Defense. Mr. McCullough stated that contractors in the middle market, companies that are too big to be considered small businesses but don't have the leverage of the larger players, are most likely to feel the squeeze from the budget cuts. He further added, “We're going to see more consolidation because they're not going to have favored status as small businesses in the competitions, and they're not going to have the traction and throw-weight that the big guys have, so they're going to have to find a way to stay viable.”
