Am Law Litigation Daily reported the Firm's significant defense victory for its client Novelis Corporation in a dispute with the consortium representing the North American Coca-Cola bottlers. (Coca-Cola Bottlers Sales & Services Co. LLC. v. Novelis Corporation). The Fried Frank team was led by litigation partners William G. McGuinness (NY) and David M. Morris (NY). Commenting on the matter, Mr. McGuinness said, "The judge completely endorsed our construction of the contract." Novelis, the world's leading producer of aluminum rolled products, supplies aluminum can sheet to Coke, which alleged that Novelis had violated the terms of the supply agreement's most favored nation provision. After three years of discovery and proceedings, the Superior Court in Fulton County, Georgia, granted summary judgment in favor of Novelis in a decision filed on July 8, 2010.
