The January 14th "Real Estate Marketplace" of the New York Law Journal notes that "[m]idtown-based intellectual property specialists Morgan & Finnegan has signed a 20-year lease that will return the 110-year-old law firm to its roots in lower Manhattan. Morgan & Finnegan's 200-plus employees, including more than 100 attorneys, will occupy the 20th and 21st floors - more than 100,000 square feet - of 3 World Financial Center, a 53-story office tower. The firm handles all aspects of IP law in a wide array of industries, including biotechnology, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, computers, electronics and telecommunications....Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson [LLP] partner Robert Sorin and associate David Kaufman represented the landlord, Brookfield Properties....Founded in 1893, Morgan & Finnegan was located downtown until 1969, when it moved to 345 Park Avenue. One of the first major law firms to relocate from midtown to downtown since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Morgan & Finnegan will receive a $1.56 million grant from the federal Job Creation and Retention Program developed to help Lower Manhattan's recovery."
