According to the New York Law Journal in its August 18th "Real Estate Marketplace," "[t]he owner of the Plaza has agreed to sell the landmark hotel at One Central Park South, at Fifth Avenue, with its adjoining property to a property investment company for $675 million. The transaction...is expected to take place late this year. Plaza Operating Partners Ltd Plans to sell the famously luxurious 19-story property with its troubled hotel business to CPS One LLC, an affiliate of Elad Properties NY....Partners Joshua Mermelstein and Donald A. Carleen, with special counsel Adrienne W. Bernard, Joel London and Pauline L. Wen, and associates Craig J. Brody, Richard Froom, David Kaufman and Suzzanne Yao, all of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson [LLP], represent the seller....Plaza Operating Partners, a British company, is half owned by Millennium and Copthorne Hotels plc.
