In the September 17th "New Deals" column of the New York Law Journal, it was noted that "Europe's largest defense company, BAE Systems plc, announced Sept. 11 it would buy DigitalNet Holdings, Inc. for about $70-0 million in cash and assumed debt. BAE said in a statement it acquired the company to expand its business with the U.S. government. DigitalNet will merge with BAE Systems North America, a subsidiary of BAE. The U.S. company designs and manufactures advanced aerospace products, electronic systems and information technology....Herndon, Va.-based DigitalNet makes secure computer networks for the Pentagon and other government agencies....Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson [LLP] advised DigitalNet.
