Firm noted for its hiring of three lateral partners for its London office, Legal Week, "Fried Frank Secures Major Boosts with Dual City Raid"

An article entitled "Fried Frank Secures Major Boost with Dual City Raid" in the September 23rd issue of Legal Week notes that "Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson [LLP] has secured a major boost to its City arm after hiring Simmons & Simmons rainmaker Jerry Walter and a six-lawyer team from Ashurst. Walters, who head the UK firm's international energy and utilities group, is known to be one of Simmons' top-billing corporate partners, having acted for key clients like Network Rail. The Simmons' veteran is joined by former Ashurst capital markets partner Sian Withey and senior associate David Sheldon, who joins as a partner, along with a team of four associates....The seven-lawyer team will focus on European M&A, private equity and capital markets work....[Managing partner, Europe Justin] Spendlove, who oversaw the launch of the US firm's German arm in July, told Legal Week the London hires were 'a big step in developing Fried Frank's European corporate and M&A capability and in building a leading European practice.' Fried Frank co-managing partner, Valerie Ford Jacob, added: 'We are particularly pleased to have been able to assemble a team that so well represents Fried Frank's commitment to Europe.'"
