Fried Frank's Endorsement of Pro Bono Principles Reported in the New York Law Journal

A November 30th New York Law Journal article entitled "30 Firms Sign City Bar Statement Pledging Lawyers Will Log 50 Pro Bono Hours a Year" reports that Fried Frank was one of the signatory firms to the New York City Bar Association's "Statement of Pro Bono Principles."

Included in the statement is a pledge that signatory firms perform 50 or more hours of pro bono per lawyer per year, that pro bono hours should be counted the same as billable hours and "looked on favorably" during personnel decisions, senior lawyers would be "strongly encouraged" to work pro bono and new associates would be asked to perform at least one pro bono matter during their first year.
