Fried Frank represents New York Yankees in the development and financing of new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx



Fried Frank real estate partners Stephen Lefkowitz and Melanie Meyers and corporate partners Arthur Kaufman and Emil Buchman represented the New York Yankees in the development and financing of a new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Also working on this matter were bankruptcy of counsel Alan Resnick, real estate special counsel David Badain, bankruptcy special counsel Kalman Ochs, real estate associate Heidi Sachs, corporate associate Elizabeth Kennedy, and summer associate Patrick Greeley. The matter closed on Tuesday, August 22, and represented a year and a half effort at the Firm including all public approvals required for the project, leasing the site of the new Stadium from the City of New York and a $960 million tax-exempt bond issue by the New York City Industrial Development Agency for financing the construction of the Stadium which is expected to open in time for the 2009 baseball season.
