Pro Bono

Pro Bono

Our summer associates are given the opportunity to work on a wide variety of pro bono assignments. These projects range from uncontested divorce cases for Her Justice, a not-for-profit provider of family-law-related legal services to indigent women, to a variety of cases from the Courtroom Advocates Project (CAP) of Sanctuary for Women, an organization that provides shelter and legal assistance to indigent women and their children and Volunteers of Legal Service Training Program, where summer associates represent clients seeking unemployment benefits in contested Department of Labor hearings.

In addition, each year several of our summer associates spend two full weeks working on-site at public interest organizations such as the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, the National Center for Law and Economic Justice and Brooklyn Legal Services.
