Richard A. Steinwurtzel
is a member of the corporate department resident in Fried Frank's Washington, DC office, was formerly Fried Frank's senior partner in Asia (2007-2009), is the former chairman and co-chairman of the Washington, DC office's Corporate Department, the former co-chair of the Firm's Finance Committee, and a former Governance Committee member. He joined the Firm in 1979, became a partner in 1983 and of counsel in 2015.
Mr. Steinwurtzel represents public and private companies in their public or private financings (equity and debt), acquisition and disposition activities and corporate governance matters. He is regularly consulted by entrepreneurs, funds and other institutional investors and various market participants concerning legal issues attendant to their investment activities. In addition, he counsels public companies, including government contractors, on disclosure assignments, United States Securities and Exchange Commission compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Prior to joining Fried Frank, Mr. Steinwurtzel worked for the SEC in its Division of Trading and Markets' Office of Chief Counsel. He has been active in the Legal and Compliance Division of the Securities Industry Association as a speaker and a participant since 1983.
