Julia V. Smolyanskiy is a restructuring and insolvency special counsel resident in Fried Frank's New York office. She joined the Firm in 2001 and became special counsel in 2016.
Ms. Smolyanskiy has a broad range of experience in advising clients on a variety of bankruptcy and/or restructuring-related matters. Her practice involves all aspects of in-court and out-of-court restructuring of financially distressed businesses including representation of significant creditors, lenders, third-party purchasers and investors. She also represents financial institutions and corporations in complex financial transactions as both lenders or borrowers.
Ms. Smolyanskiy also commits time to pro bono legal work collaborating on uncontested divorce cases and immigration cases (naturalization petitions and VAWA cases) with Her Justice and working on chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions preparation with NYC Bankruptcy Assistance Project.
