Mary Beth Phipps
is a corporate associate resident in Fried Frank's New York office and a member of the environmental group and the technology transactions group. She joined the Firm in 2011.
Ms. Phipps' practice as it relates to the environmental group focuses on advising clients with respect to environmental, health and safety liability issues in connection with complex corporate, real estate and financial transactions including coordinating environmental, health and safety diligence, retaining and supervising technical experts, counseling clients on deal-related liability and risk allocation issues, drafting and negotiating contract language and preparation of securities disclosures. Ms. Phipps has represented sellers, purchasers, lenders and underwriters in transactions relating to a wide variety of environmentally sensitive industries including oil and gas exploration and refining, coal mining, hydraulic fracturing and chemical manufacturing.
Ms. Phipps' practice as it relates to the technology transactions group focuses on transactional intellectual property matters, including licensing agreements, intellectual property transfer arrangements and the intellectual property aspects of complex corporate and financial transactions. Ms. Phipps has represented clients in a range of industries including biopharmaceuticals, software and consumer products.
Past Chair (2017-2019), Vice-Chair of Programming (2016-2017), and Vice Chair of Year in Review (2015-2016), for the Environmental Disclosure Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources.
