Laurinda Martins is a partner in the Real Estate Department, resident in the New York office. She first joined the Firm in 2011 and became partner in 2015. She rejoined the Firm as partner in 2019 after having acted as senior vice president of Brookfield Property Group for three years.
Ms. Martins has extensive experience with sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including large-scale acquisitions, joint ventures, and development. She concentrates her practice on commercial mortgage, mezzanine, and construction financing on behalf of lenders and borrowers; joint ventures; acquisitions and dispositions; and loan restructures, workouts, and UCC foreclosures.
During her time at Brookfield Property Group, she was responsible for acquisitions, dispositions, financings, development, and joint ventures and oversaw the legal aspects of a variety of complex projects, including the US$11.4 billion acquisition of Forest City, among others.
