Andrew B. Barkan
is a corporate partner resident in Fried Frank's New York office. He joined the Firm in 2000 and became a partner in 2008.
Mr. Barkan concentrates his practice on corporate finance and capital markets transactions, including the representation of issuers and underwriters in domestic and international public offerings and private placements such as initial public offerings, follow-on and secondary equity offerings, high-yield, investment grade and convertible debt offerings, acquisition financings, debt tender offers and consent solicitations, and related capital market and private equity transactions.
In addition, Mr. Barkan advises clients on a variety of securities law and corporate governance matters.

Mr. Barkan played an integral role on the Fried Frank team that was awarded the 2017 International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Equity Deal of the Year for its work as counsel to the underwriters on Athene Holding’s US$1.25b IPO, which was one of the top three IPOs in 2016, by size.
Mr. Barkan is recognized in Chambers USA as a leading individual in Capital Markets: Debt & Equity. He is listed as a “Next Generation Lawyer” by Legal 500 in Capital Markets: Debt Offerings, and is also consistently recognized for his work in the categories of High Yield Debt Offerings, Equity Offerings and Global Offerings.
