Biography
Tal J. Golomb is a partner in Fried Frank's Real Estate Department, resident in the New York office. He joined the Firm in 2007.

Mr. Golomb routinely counsels developers, owners, investors, lenders and not-for-profit institutions on the largest and most complicated real estate projects in New York City and the region. His practice comprises all transactional and regulatory aspects of real estate development, large-scale economic development projects and public/private initiatives, including development and construction agreements, acquisitions, ground and development leases, equity and debt financings, development rights agreements, zoning and land use and governmental incentives.

Notable ongoing and recent representations include:
  • Vornado Realty Trust in connection with (i) the acquisition, development and financing of Moynihan Station, comprising a new Amtrak and MTA train hall and more than 600,000 square feet of office and retail space in the historic James A. Farley Post Office building; and (ii) the redevelopment of the surrounding Penn Plaza blocks and public improvements to Penn Station.
  • Related Companies and its joint venture partner Oxford Properties Group with respect to the development, financing, joint ventures and land use approvals for the 12-million-square-foot mixed-use development at Hudson Yards in Midtown Manhattan.
  • Tishman Speyer in connection with several significant development projects, including (i) its 99-year, 620,000-square-foot master lease of the historic Morgan North Post Office in West Chelsea; (ii) its mixed use redevelopment project at the original Macy's location in Downtown Brooklyn into the The Wheeler, an office building, and 11 Hoyt, a residential tower; and (iii) the development of The Jacx, which will include two 27-story office towers in Long Island City, Queens. 
  • Brookfield on the development, acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, land use and incentives for several development projects, including the 7-million-square-foot mixed-use Manhattan West project in Midtown Manhattan, the residential development in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, and the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx.
  • JP Morgan Chase in connection with various aspects of its 2.5-million-square-foot headquarters redevelopment at 270 Park Avenue.
  • Deerfield Management Company in connection with its development of New York City's largest life sciences innovation center.
  • Cornell University in all aspects of the development of its new applied sciences and technology campus on Roosevelt Island, including the negotiation of joint venture and ground leases with private development partners.
  • The Greenland Group in the development, land use approvals and financing of the multibillion-dollar Atlantic Yards and Pacific Park project in Brooklyn, New York, including the Barclays Center and 16 affordable and market rate residential buildings.
  • RXR Realty in connection with the redevelopment and governmental approvals of Pier 57 in Hudson River Park for retail and office uses.
  • The National September 11 Memorial and Museum Foundation in the negotiation of a long-term ground lease at the World Trade Center site.
  • SL Green Realty Corp. in the development, land use approvals and negotiation of transit-related improvements for the One Vanderbilt project adjacent to Grand Central Terminal.

Honors & Awards

Mr. Golomb is recognized by Legal 500 in Real Estate. In 2017, he was named a “MVP” in Real Estate by Law360 following selections as a Law360 “Rising Star” in both 2013 and 2015. In addition, he was selected as a “Rising Star” by New York Law Journal in 2013.

Professional Associations

Mr. Golomb serves on the board of directors of The Friends of Governors Island and Coro New York City Leadership Center. In addition, he was selected for the 2019 class of David Rockefeller Fellows by the Partnership for New York City.  He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and New York City Bar Association.
