Tal J. Golomb
is a partner in Fried Frank's Real Estate Department, resident in the New York office. He joined the Firm in 2007.
Mr. Golomb specializes in real estate development, large-scale economic development projects, land use, governmental incentives and construction. His practice has involved the representation of developers, owners and not-for-profit institutions on the largest and most complicated real estate projects in New York City and the region.
Such ongoing and recent representations include:
- A joint venture of Vornado Realty Trust and the Related Companies in connection with the acquisition, development and financing of Moynihan Station, including a new train hall and more than 600,000 square feet of office and retail space in the historic James A. Farley Post Office building adjacent to Penn Station.
- Related Companies and its joint venture partner the Oxford Properties Group, with respect to the development, financing, joint ventures and land use approvals for the 12 million square foot mixed-use development at Hudson Yards in Midtown Manhattan.
- Cornell University in all aspects of the development of its new applied sciences and technology campus on Roosevelt Island, including the negotiation of joint venture and ground leases with private developer partners.
- Forest City Ratner Companies and its joint venture partner, the Greenland Group, in the development, land use approvals and financing of the multibillion-dollar Atlantic Yards and Pacific Park project in Brooklyn, New York, including the Barclays Center and 16 affordable and market rate residential buildings.
- Tishman Speyer in its mixed use redevelopment project at the original Macy's location in Downtown Brooklyn and in connection with its multi-building Gotham Center commercial development in Long Island City.
- Brookfield on development, financing, land use and incentives for several development projects, including the 7 million square foot mixed-use Manhattan West project in Midtown Manhattan and the residential development in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.
- RXR Realty in connection with the redevelopment and governmental approvals of Pier 57 in Hudson River Park for retail and office uses.
- The National September 11 Memorial and Museum Foundation in the negotiation of a long-term ground lease at the World Trade Center site.
- SL Green Realty in the development, land use approvals and negotiation of transit-related improvements for the One Vanderbilt project adjacent to Grand Central Terminal.
Prior to joining the Firm, he served as senior counsel in the New York City Law Department from 2004 to 2007 and practiced as an associate at an international law firm in New York from 2003 to 2004. From 2002 to 2003, he was a law clerk for Chief Judge Edward R. Becker of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Golomb is recognized by Legal 500 in Real Estate. In 2017, he was named a “MVP” in Real Estate by Law360 following selections as a Law360 “Rising Star” in both 2013 and 2015. In addition, he was selected as a “Rising Star” by New York Law Journal in 2013. He serves on the board of directors of Friends of Governors Island and Coro New York City Leadership Center.
