Steven Rudgayzer is a partner in the New York office of Fried Frank and a member of the Firm's Corporate Real Estate Transactions Practice. He joined the Firm in 2007.

Mr. Rudgayzer advises Firm clients on a wide range of corporate real estate matters, including complex joint venture transactions, entity level investments and acquisitions and dispositions of real estate assets. He also has significant experience with non-mortgage real estate financings and real estate restructurings, and is a frequent guest lecturer at Columbia University, Harvard University and New York University graduate programs regarding joint venture negotiations.

Mr. Rudgayzer has handled transactions for clients that include Brookfield Properties, Goldman Sachs, RXR Realty, NorthStar Realty Healthcare and Tishman Speyer.

Recently completed transactions include representation of:
  • Brookfield Properties Inc. in connection with its US$8 billion joint venture with Qatar Investment Authority for the development of Manhattan West, a proposed development that is expected to include seven million square feet of office space in three buildings, and residential, hotel, retail and open space spanning five acres in the Hudson Yards District.

  • CVS Health Corporation in its US$2 billion acquisition of the pharmacy and clinic businesses of Target Corporation, and the long-term license or lease of space for the pharmacies and clinics in approximately 1,700 Target stores.

  • RXR Realty in connection with both its agreement to sell an approximately 49% interest in the companies that own a portfolio of six New York City office buildings valued at approximately US$4 billion (including 620 Sixth Avenue, 450 Lexington Avenue, 1330 Sixth Avenue and the Starrett-Lehigh building at 601 West 26th Street) to Blackstone Property Partners and its joint venture with Blackstone to continue as the manager of the portfolio.

  • Brookfield Asset Management in its US$2.1 billion purchase from Colony NorthStar of a manufactured housing portfolio consisting of approximately 33,010 sites in 135 communities located in 13 states, and the establishment of a joint venture platform with its operating partner in connection therewith.

Mr. Rudgayzer was selected by Law360 as a "Rising Star" in real estate, an honor that recognizes top attorneys under the age of 40. He is also recognized by Legal 500 in the REITS category and has also been recognized by Super Lawyers in Real Estate.

Mr. Rudgayzer is a frequent guest lecturer at Columbia University, Harvard University, and New York University graduate programs regarding joint venture negotiations.
