Some of our new associates know what they want and go directly into their chosen practice groups. Others spend time working in a range of practice areas before they settle into one or more. Either is fine with us. Our assigning process is flexible, enabling new associates to take on work from as many or as few practice areas as they like. All of our practice groups are committed to giving associates meaningful responsibility, and the chance to interact with clients and play an active role in the market-leading matters regularly handled by Fried Frank attorneys.
From your very first day, you’ll be assigned to one or more multidisciplinary teams assembled to work on specific client projects. You’ll become an integral part of your assigned teams, interacting with partners, associates and clients, learning from your colleagues and the vast diversity of their perspectives and experiences. Practice group managers work closely with associates and monitor workloads to ensure an appropriate balance of work and offering support where needed.
As a Fried Frank associate, you’ll also be encouraged to take on pro bono work. You can participate in pro bono matters made available by the firm or pro bono work you initiate yourself.
