In response to multiple requests, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (the “Commission” or “CFTC”) Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight (“DSIO”) has issued exemptive relief to commodity trading advisors (“CTAs”) from the requirement to keep certain books and records at their main business office, thus permitting them to use third-party recordkeepers.  This relief results in consistency with the current treatment of commodity pool operators (“CPOs”).
