Supreme Court Cuts Back Further on Punitive Damages

The Supreme Court has just issued a pointed critique of punitive damage awards as inconsistent and unpredictable, and has imposed new limits restricting the size of punitive awards in certain contexts.  Its reasoning will likely be a roadmap for future challenges to punitive damage awards in a broader array of settings.
