Lee S. Parks is a member of the Corporate Department resident in Fried Frank's New York office. He joined the Firm in 1984 and became a partner in 1991.
Mr. Parks is co-head of the Firm's Corporate Real Estate Transactions Practice and has a diverse practice, with a particular emphasis on joint venture transactions, private equity investments, non-mortgage real estate financings, securities offerings for the real estate industry, real estate fund formation, public and private mergers and acquisitions for real estate companies, and real estate restructurings. His work includes advising foreign clients, including sovereign wealth funds and pension plans, who are investing in US real estate. He has also worked on restructuring securitized financing structures, as well as other aspects of distressed real estate investing.
Mr. Parks has advised Brookfield Properties in connection with its Manhattan West joint ventures; RXR Realty in connection with the organization of RXR, the formation of its real estate funds and its joint ventures; Tishman Speyer in its joint venture with Qatar Diar for a mixed use Long Island City development; Tishman Hotel and Resorts in connection with the refinancing of its E-Walk retail property and the acquisition of the fee interest for the project; and SL Green Realty Corp. in connection with a wide variety of matters. His clients also include JEMB Realty, Goldman Sachs, CIC, China Life, Temasek, RFR Holdings and Apollo Global Real Estate.
Mr. Parks did early extensive work in Latin America, where he has, among other projects, participated in cross-border M&A and global offerings. He also has a background in the computer science and electrical engineering fields, and has experience in the area of technology law, advising Internet startup ventures and venture capital investing. Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a consultant to several high-technology companies, including International Business Machines Corporation.
