Lee S. Parks


Lee S. Parks is a member of the Corporate Department resident in Fried Frank's New York office.  He joined the Firm in 1984 and became a partner in 1991.  

Mr. Parks is co-head of the Firm's Corporate Real Estate Transactions Practice and has a diverse practice, with a particular emphasis on joint venture transactions, public and private securities offerings, private equity investments, non-mortgage real estate financings, real estate restructurings, real estate fund formation, public and private mergers and acquisitions, and management agreements.  His work includes advising clients, including sovereign wealth funds, who are investing in or restructuring securitized financing structures, as well as other aspects of distressed real estate investing.

Mr. Parks has advised Tishman Hotel and Resorts in connection with the formation of a joint venture to develop and finance the New York Intercontinental Hotel, RXR Realty in connection with the organization of RXR and the formation of its real estate opportunity fund, Broadway Partners in connection with several restructuring transactions, and SL Green Realty Corp. in connection with a wide variety of matters. His clients also include Brookfield Properties, Goldman Sachs, CIC, Area Properties, Tishman Speyer, RFR Holdings and Apollo Global Real Estate.

His work includes transactions in Latin America, where he has participated in cross-border M&A and global offerings.  He also has a background in the computer science and electrical engineering field, and has experience in the area of technology law, advising Internet startup ventures and venture capital investors.  Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a consultant to several high-technology companies, including International Business Machines Corporation.

Broadway Real Estate Partners in the acquisition of a Beacon Capital portfolio of REITs including the John Hancock Tower, the Citigroup Center and 10 Universal City Plaza

Kimco Corporation, as part of a consortium, in the $17.4b acquisition of Albertsons Inc.

Mr. Parks also represents several Latin American companies, including:

Mexico City-based Pepsi-Gemex SA, one of the largest Pepsi bottlers in the world

Grupo Financiero Banamex Accival, SA and several of its affiliates, including Banamex, one of the largest Mexican commercial banks

Avantel, a joint venture formed between Banamex and MCI WorldCom, Inc. to provide telephone services in Mexico
