Summer Associates and Pro Bono

Every year, our summer associates are given the opportunity to work on a wide variety of pro bono matters throughout their time at the Firm.  In addition to working on ongoing matters, summer associates also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that are designed to be completed during their summer stay.  These include uncontested divorce cases for Her Justice, formerly InMotion, a not-for-profit provider of family law-related legal services to indigent women, and various cases from the Courtroom Advocates Project of Sanctuary for Women, an organization that provides shelter and legal assistance to indigent women and their children.

In addition, every summer program provides the opportunity for several of our summer associates to spend two full weeks outside of the office at such public interest organizations as The Legal Aid Society, the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, the Center for Employment Opportunities, Brooklyn Legal Services and Legal Services of New York-Manhattan.
