| Peter Richards-Carpenter Joins Fried Frank as Regulatory Senior Counsel |

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that Peter Richards-Carpenter has joined the Firm as a regulatory senior counsel resident in the London office. He is known for his work developing and advising on the regulation of financial services in the United Kingdom and is currently involved with the draft European legislation which is proposed to change hedge fund and private equity fund regulation. Peter advised the Financial Services Authority (FSA) on elements of its current regulation of the UK's financial services markets and has worked regularly with major financial institutions on the development of their operations, both institutional and retail, with particular emphasis on asset servicing and asset management businesses. He has assisted a large number of banks and financial institutions to structure and establish their operations in the UK as well as to organize their group structures to take advantage of the European Union single market initiatives, and, where appropriate, make use of appropriate outsourcing arrangements. Peter was previously a partner and head of the financial services practice of Mayer Brown in London. |
