Robert C. SchwenkelPartner Robert C. Schwenkel is the chair of Fried Frank's corporate department and head of the Firm's M&A and private equity groups. He joined the Firm in 1982 and became a partner in 1989. Mr. Schwenkel has a diverse transactional corporate practice concentrating in private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Representative clients include private investment funds managed by Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Permira Advisers LLP; Onex Corporation; Morgan Stanley Principal Investments; Appaloosa Management LP; and Citadel Investment Group. He also frequently represents private equity sponsors in "club" transactions. He is a frequent speaker on private equity and dealmaking trends at continuing education programs hosted by the Practicing Law Institute and has spoken at conferences for the American Conference Institute and the Canadian Institute. In addition, Mr. Schwenkel moderated a panel of industry experts at the Dow Jones' Private Equity Analyst Conference in September 2008 on "Not Just Another Middle-Market Buyout Firm: What it Takes to Stand Out".
